Communication Process


  • The sender encodes (thinks about what to say in the message) before sending it.
  • The receiver then decodes (interprets the message) and responds back to it, which is called feedback.
  • The channels are the way the message is sent, whether by text, email, letter, etc.
  • The noise within the conversation is internal interference.
  • The noise outside of the conversation is external interference.
  • The context is the setting and time of the conversation.
